X-ray Prescription Decoder
Doctors write X-ray requests in a shorthand nobody explains. Type what's on the slip and we'll tell you what each part means, how many images that is, and what it costs to have it done at home.
How it's calculated
We look for the body part (chest, LS spine, knee and so on), then the views written next to it, like PA, AP, Lat or Oblique. Each view is one image. B/L or 'both' means left and right each get their own set, so the count doubles. If no views are written, we use the ones a radiographer would usually take for that part.
How to read your result
The number of views is what sets the price, and it's also a quick check that nothing was missed. If the count looks different from what you expected, it's usually because of a B/L or an extra view like a skyline or an oblique. When a prescription is vague, the technician follows the doctor's intent and we confirm on the call.
Common questions
Two views of the same part. AP (anteroposterior) is taken from the front, and Lat (lateral) from the side. So 'LS spine AP/Lat' is two images of the lower back.
Method: Standard radiography projections for each body part. Price: ₹500 visit plus ₹200 per view.
