How it's calculated

We take a healthy share of your daily calories, around 45 to 65 percent, and convert it to grams at four calories per gram, giving you a sensible daily range.

How to read your result

Quality matters as much as the gram count. The same number from whole grains, fruit, legumes and vegetables behaves very differently from the same number of refined sugar. Lean towards the former.
