Questions people ask
What does a “view” mean?
A view is one image from one angle. A chest X-ray is usually a single front view. A knee is usually two: one from the front and one from the side. Your prescription tells us how many.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes, an X-ray needs a doctor's prescription. Keep a photo of it ready and we'll ask for it on the call.
Can you X-ray someone who can't get out of bed?
Yes, and it's one of the main reasons people book a home X-ray. The technician positions the detector plate under them on their own bed, so they don't need to stand or be moved to a chair.
Is it safe to have an X-ray at home?
The dose from a portable unit is small, similar to a hospital X-ray. The technician keeps family members out of the room while the image is taken. Tell us if the patient may be pregnant.
When do I pay?
After the visit. Nothing is charged when you book.
